How can I remove old/incorrect payroll schedules and set up pay periods in QBO?

I can set up a pay period and enter save but then the schedule shows a future period. The next attempt results in the same way but with another schedule name.

How can I remove old/incorrect payroll schedules and set up pay periods in QBO?

Hello there, @jmgrenier. Let me guide you on the actions you need to remove your old and incorrect pay schedules and help you set up your appropriate pay periods in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you can keep your payroll data accurate and updated.

When you have old and incorrect pay schedules, removing them would need the assistance of our Payroll Care team. The Community is a public forum, and we need to pull up your payroll account to do so. With this, I encourage you to contact them during support hours to complete your task. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO company.
  2. Go to the Help (?) menu.
  3. Select the Search tab.
  4. Click the Contact Us button.
  5. Enter a brief description of your concern in the What can we help you with? field.
  6. Select Continue.
  7. Choose a way to connect with us (Send a message or Get a callback).

On the other hand, you'll want to edit your pay period and select or enter the correct ending date. This way, your schedule will show the appropriate pay period dates. Please see the attached screenshot below for your reference.

For more details about setting up and assigning pay schedules to pay your employees in QBOP, you can refer to this article: Set up and manage payroll schedules

Once you're done, you can now create paychecks for your employees using their updated pay schedules. This way, you'll be able to report their payroll and tax info to the agencies timely.

Also, there are several payroll reports you can use to view useful information about your business finances and employees' account. You may check out this article as your reference in case you want to see the complete list and how you can customize and print them in QBO: Run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Please keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other payroll concerns or questions about pay schedules and periods in QBOP, I'll gladly help. Take care, and have a great day, @jmgrenier.
