Join nowEdit the employee address detail PRIOR to running the creation of W2s. If you use Full Service Payroll you may need to call in the change
Good day, @christyrbish.
I'm here to help change your employee's address in QuickBooks Online.
Here's how:
If you're using Intuit Full Service Payroll, go to Employees tab then follow steps 2-4 above.
However, if you're employees works at a location in a state outside your primary work-location state, your employee is subject to work-based taxes. To know more about the multistate employment payroll situations, you refer to this article for further guidance: About multistate employment payroll situations.
Please know that we'll always be here to help you with any other concerns. Have a blissful day!
My employee's address changed over a year ago, and the current, correct address is showing in their employee profile in quickbooks online. However, he just notified me that his W-2 was sent to an old address from almost 2 years ago.
How do I correct this, as what I can see is correct, but not what was put on his W-2.
Thank you
Thanks for joining the thread, @angeli-donatone-. I can help update the employee W2 address in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
If you're using Assisted or Full Service Payroll, you'll have to contact our Payroll Support Team to change the employee addresses on W2s. Intuit will prepare and file payroll tax forms on behalf of the business owner.
We'll fix it and file a W-2c form with the SSA. You'll also get a copy of the W-2c to provide to your employee, as well as an updated W-3 document to keep for your records.
However, if you're not using any of these plans, you'll have to file W-2c outside QuickBooks. Check this link for your guide: General Instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3.
I've added this link about managing W-2s for employees: Understand why the wage amounts are different on your employee's W-2.
Additionally, I've added these resources that'll help you prepare, file and print W-2:
Let me know if you need further assistance managing your payroll forms in QuickBooks. I'm looking forward to helping you. Have a great day ahead.
