The needs attention notice means that there's a message from your bank's website that requires action from you.
These include the following messages:
To resolve the problem, you need to sign in to your bank's website and either dismiss or act on all notifications. If you don't see your notifications, you have to disable your pop-up blocker.
Once all messages are acknowledged, go back to QuickBooks and update your bank manually.

Hello, I have the same problem. There is a "needs attention" notice regarding an invoice where the check was returned and invoice disputed. I have created an credit memo to offset the invoice and the invoice now shows paid - but the notice will not go away. What do I do?
I'm glad you make it here, LisaS2.
This behavior can be resolved by performing some basic troubleshooting steps. First, let's use a private browser to see if the issue is caused by an overloaded data in your default browser's cache.
Below are the keyboard shortcuts that you can refer:
If using the private browser removes the notice, I suggest clearing your browser's cache. This is a helpful method to fix any possible web page issues. Otherwise, switching to other supported browser also helps.

Hello Thank you, but this did not work.
One thing I did notice is when I unapply the payment, the notice goes away. But then I am left with open invoices and payments. Once I applied the payment again, the notice came back. This payment was a customer ACH or properly referred to as a "check writer return".
I can not delete these transactions because the payment was indeed deposited together with a few other payments and then deducted 6 days later with a fee. So the initial payment must be applied to the original invoice and then a second invoice created for the bounced check and fee.
Hi LisaS2,
Thanks for getting back to us.
You'll usually get this message when your bank or financial institution requires actions from you. Sign in to your bank's website and dismiss or act on all the notifications received.
If you don't see any notification, make sure to disable your pop-up blocker so you'll not be getting the message. But if the issue persists, I suggest contacting our support team to investigate this further. They have the tools the pull up your account in a secure environment. Here's how to reach them:

I do not think my bank is sending this notice. The transaction happened thru Inuit Payments as an electronic check. The notice is coming from Intuit.
Hello there, @LisaS2.
As of now, we haven’t received a reported investigation about this error. Since you’ve done the browser troubleshooting steps provided by my colleague, and the error is still present. I suggest contacting support so that they can perform screen sharing and do troubleshooting.
If the error still exists after troubleshooting, this will be escalated to our engineers to check what has caused this error. And then you'll be listed as one of the affected users.
