How do I keep my mileage entries from duplicating

Thanks for coming here, rbuckner0.

If you're trying to remove duplicate mileage entries, here are the steps that you need to take:

Step 1: Double-check your bank statement

Step 2: Check your online bank connections in QuickBooks

Step 3: Exclude duplicate transactions

For the complete instructions of the following steps, please refer to this article: Handle duplicate transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

However, if you mean to duplicate mileage trips, then this isn't a feature in QBSE.

For a complete guide about tracking mileage in QBSE, check out the following articles:

Thanks for following this thread, kris328.

This isn’t the kind of experience I want for you. Let me share some information to help move forward.

As mentioned by @Charies_M, you’ll have to exclude the duplicate transactions. Aside from that, check your bank statement and online banking connection. This is to keep your records in the correct order.

However, if you’re using a mobile device, the issue about duplicate mileage entries is already reported to our engineers. Rest assured, they're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

We’ll have to add you to the list of affected users. This way, you’ll receive email updates about the investigation. Since we’ll have to collate personal data, I suggest contacting our QBSE Support Team.

One of our specialists will help you sign up to the notification list. The process also ensures your account is viewed in a secure space.

To reach them:

  1. Tap the Assistant icon to open the QB Assistant window.
  2. From there, enter the issue in the Type something box. For example, mileage tracking.
  3. Hit the I still need a human button to display the support options.
  4. From there, choose Message an agent or Get a Callback.
  5. Provide the following number to expedite the process: INV-53938.

For future reference, these articles outline the complete steps on how to resolve any mileage concerns in QBSE.

Don’t hesitate to leave a comment below if you have any other concerns or questions. I’ll be right here to help and make sure you’re taken care of. Have a good one.

How do I keep my mileage entries from duplicating

Hello, @drjanabraun.

Let me share an update about the on-going investigation with the duplicate trips in your QuickBooks account.

If you're using an android device, the duplicate trips (INV-53938) are already resolved. Let's make sure that your mobile app is updated to the latest version. Here's how:

  1. On your device, open the Google Play store.
  2. On the home screen, click the Menu ☰ icon.
  3. Tap My apps & games.
  4. In the Updates tab, find and select the QuickBooks Self-Employed app. Note: if you don’t see the QuickBooks Self-Employed app in the Updates tab, your app is already up to date.
  5. Select Update.

Meanwhile, you can delete these duplicate entries. Here's how:

  1. Go to Miles.
  2. Select the duplicate entry to open.
  3. Click the Trash icon at the right side of the screen. See the image below.
  4. Hit Yes, when prompted.

However, if you're using the iOS device, our product engineers are still working on an investigation to permanent resolve this  on-going issue. I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team so you'd be added to the affected users' list. Just provide your full name, updated email address, and this investigation number: INV-55315.

Get back to me if you have other concerns or questions. We're always here to help you out.
