It's nice to have you here today, 2711cathleen,
I can help you remove the second state in your employee's W-4 information.
There are two (2) ways to get this done. Let me walk you through the steps:
Option 1: If there aren't any employees under the same state, you can make the work location inactive in the Payroll Settings.
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select Payroll Settings.
- Choose Work Locations in below the Business Information section.
- Click on the state and mark the Inactive box.
- Click Save.
Option 2: If you have multiple employees using the same location, you can set the state as Do Not Withhold directly on a specific employee's profile.
- Click on the Workers menu.
- Go to the Employees tab and click the employee name.
- Select the Edit employee button.
- In the What are [Employee Name] withholdings? section, click on the pencil icon.
- Click the state and update the Filing status to Do Not Withhold.
- Click Done.
That should do it, 2711cathleen. Please let me know how it goes. I'll be on a lookout for your response. Have a good one!
