How do I resolve the yellow exclamation point on employees after migrating?

Hello there, @chris430. You'll need to set up your employee details in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to remove the yellow exclamation mark, and I'm here to guide you.

After migrating, you'll see a yellow exclamation point next to an employee's name if there's missing information. To remove it, ensure to enter all of their details.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll tab and select Employees.
  2. Click the employee's name.
  3.  Locate which section contains the exclamation point and click Start or Edit.
  4. Review and fill in the missing details.
  5. Select Save.

Moreover, refer to this article, so you can run payroll and start paying your employees: Create and run your payroll.

Keep in touch if you need further assistance setting up your account after migrating to QBO. The Community forum is here to guide you along the way. Stay safe.

The only place the yellow exclamation point shows up is on the employee name (5 of 7 employees). I scroll through the tabs but there are no other indications of the exclamation point. Thanks.

How do I resolve the yellow exclamation point on employees after migrating?

I appreciate you for getting back on this thread and sharing additional info, chris. I'm here to ensure this gets resolved.

Usually, the yellow exclamation point means that the system detects missing information in your employees.

Since you didn't locate any indications, I recommend accessing your account using a private window. This way, we can determine whether this is a browser cache-related issue. The browser utilizes cached data to load web pages quickly. However, excessive cache can lead to problems that impact the appearance and functionality of your account.

Incognito mode helps us verify the issue since this doesn't save any files. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

If the exclamation is gone, clear the browser's cache. It deletes all the data from your browser and optimizes its performance. Using other supported browsers also helps us verify if this is a browser-specific issue.

Once you're all set, you can explore the following resources to assist you in effortlessly managing your payroll transactions and employees:

How do I resolve the yellow exclamation point on employees after migrating?

Managed to get it fixed... went into each employee record, under profile I went to Tax Withholding (for no apparent reason) and edit, then selected 2019 earlier or 2020 later, saved, and exclamation point went away.
