How do you remove payroll tasks from your dashboard that have been completed outside of QBs?

Thank you for posting here, @dancingfish.

If you're referring to the payroll form filed outside the system that is still displayed in the task reminder, you can remove it by archiving them. Here's how:

  1. Select Taxes and choose Payroll.
  2. Click Annual Forms.
  3. Choose the payroll form.
  4. Tap Archive.

Then, to further assist you with this, I recommend reaching out to our QBO care team. They use specific tools to check your account in a safe environment and help you remove the Payroll Tasks on your Dashboard. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Help menu and select Contact Us.
  2. In the What can we help you with? enter a Remove payroll tasks on the Dashboard.
  3. Then, click Continue.
  4. Choose either Chat with us or Have us call you.

Also, QuickBooks Online offers several payroll reports that you can pull up to access your business and employee information. To get started, see our Payroll reports page.

Let me know how this goes and leave a reply below. I'm always here to help you manage your payroll in QuickBooks. Have a good one.

How do you remove payroll tasks from your dashboard that have been completed outside of QBs?

This worked for all but the W2 A and D copies. there is no way to archive this.  Its a shame that I now have to go through the long task of waiting for QB assistance to remove this pesky reminder.

I have the same issue.  Did you figure out how to remove the W2 A and D copies from the to do list?  Thank you.

Hi there, @cshawn45. I'd be glad to assist you in getting rid of the reminders on the To-Do list.

You can usually remove tax forms from the To-Do List by saving or archiving them.

Here's how:

  1. Click the link for this form on the To-Do list.
  2. Click View.
  3. Make sure the correct form is displayed in the Adobe Reader window.
  4. Print the form if you need to, then close the window.
  5. Click Archive.

You can refer to this article for more information: Manage Your To Do list.

If you're unable to remove the W-2, Copies A & D, I recommend calling our Payroll Support to assist you further. They have the tools to check your account and remove the payroll task forms for you.

Here's how:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Dashboard.
  2. Select Talk to a Human.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern and press Enter.
  4. Click I still need a human.
  5. Select Contact Us to connect with our live support.
  6. Choose Get a callback.

How do you remove payroll tasks from your dashboard that have been completed outside of QBs?

Hello, these options do not exist on the new interface. How do I archive payroll tasks now? In fact, how do I pull up the task list now for that matter so I can check off completed tasks?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, @user12. Let me help you archive your payroll tasks in QuickBooks Online.

We have a few new easy steps to archive your forms. I'd be delighted to guide you on how to do it:

  1. From the Taxes menu, choose Payroll Tax.
  2. Select the Filings tab.
  3. Next to the tax form you want to save or archive, select File.
  4. Click Record Filings.

Once done, go to the Archive section. Modify the Start and End Date then tick Filter to see the forms you need. From there, you'll be able to see completed tax filings and forms ready to view and print.

If you're unable to see these options on your end, would you mind adding an additional screenshot to your post? More information can help us get on the same page and be able to guide you on the correct procedure.

You may also want to run payroll reports in QuickBooks. This will help you view useful information about your business and employees.

You can always reply if you have any other questions about managing your payroll forms in QBO Payroll. I'll get back here as soon as possible to help you again. Thanks for dropping by, and stay safe always.
