I cannot connect my BOFA business checking account with qucikbooks

Hey there, oska22.

Only the listed banks are supported when connecting a bank account in QuickBooks Online. These banks have been specifically integrated with QBO to ensure a smooth and reliable experience. If your bank is not on the list, it means it's not currently supported for direct integration with QBO.

To help you manage your transactions, you can submit a request for your bank to be added to QBO. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

  1. Go to the Banking menu and select the Banking tab.
  2. Click on the Link account.
  3. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks can't find your bank, you will get the message, "Hmm, we can’t find [BOFA Business Checking] in our list of supported banks," you will be presented with helpful tips to try and locate your bank account.
  4. If you're still unable to find your bank, select Request.
  5. Enter your bank's name and web address (URL) in the field provided.
  6. Click Request.

If you want to find out more about how to search for your bank when connecting it to online banking in QBO, check out this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

At the moment, we can manually upload your bank transactions to your QuickBooks account. To do this, you can visit your bank's website and follow their instructions on downloading them to QBO. Currently, we support the following file formats for uploading:

  • Comma-separated values (CSV)
  • QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Quicken (QFX)

Here's how to upload the file:

  1. Navigate the Banking menu and select Banking.
  2. Click the dropdown arrow beside the Link account. Then, select Upload from file
  3. Choose Drag and drop or select files and select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then select Continue.
  4. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account and click Continue.
  5. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
  6. Pick the transactions you would like to import. Then select Continue.
  7. Click Yes, then Done.

Once you've successfully uploaded the transactions, go back to the Banking menu to match and categorize them. Once done, we can proceed with reconciling them to ensure accuracy and help identify discrepancies or errors in the financial records.

If you have any questions or need further assistance regarding your banking connection, post them in the comment. I'll be more than happy to help you out.
