I just started using app.qbo.inyuit.com for my payroll. I ran my payroll at the end of July but it has not exported to my Quickbooks for Mac register. How can I resolve?

The app.qbo.inyuit.com reports the checks as exported. My tax payments were in fact exported to my Quickbooks for Mac and the tax payments show up in my register. Why not my checks?

Thanks for coming back, @WWSS. Let's find the exported checks in your QuickBooks for Mac bank register.

Before we start, may I know if you have selected the checks you want to export? This may be the reason the July checks aren't showing in your QuickBooks for Mac account register.

You can re-export the individual paychecks by following these steps. Let me show you how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online Payroll (qbo.intuit.com).
  2. From the left panel, go to the Payroll menu and then select Employees.
  3. Click the Paycheck list link.
  4. Adjust the Date range to a specific July date.
  5. Check the paycheck box you want to export.
  6. Choose Export that you can see above the page.

Also, the account type in the extracted file will depend on the employee's set up in QuickBooks Online Payroll. I recommend reviewing your payroll settings and ensure the account linked to your employee is correct.

Here's how:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online Payroll account.
  2. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Payroll settings under Your Company.
  4. Go to Preferences.
  5. Press Accounting Preferences.
  6. Make the necessary changes to the linked accounts.
  7. Hit OK.

Once done exporting the paychecks and in case the details are incorrect, I recommend editing the IIF file manually. This way, it'll match with the account type you have in QuickBooks for Mac.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. In Microsoft Excel, go to File and select Open.
  2. In the File type dropdown, select All Files.
  3. Select the IIF file you want to edit, then choose Open.
  4. In the Text Import Wizard, select Next, then Next and Finish.
  5. Make the changes to your IIF file.
  6. Go to the File menu, click Save, then Yes.
  7. Exit Excel. You'll get a prompt to save the IIF again. Select Don't Save.
