.iif Import History

I am trying to find a history of our .iif files that have been imported to confirm payroll data has been uploaded for each pay period.

.iif Import History

The option to show a history of imported IIF files is unavailable in QuickBooks, Andy. However, there are other options to view your uploaded transactions in the program.

Before we start, could you please let me know how you uploaded your payroll data into the program? Importing payroll transactions using IIF files isn't supported in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you added them as journal entries, I suggest running financial reports to review the dates when they were recorded in QuickBooks.

You can also check your bank's register to see when the payroll transactions are posted. To do this, go to List and select Chart of Accounts. Then double-click your account to view its register and review your payroll data.

Moreover, I've included articles to help you access useful information about your business and employees. These will help ensure that your data is accurate:

Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions about finding a history of imported IIF payroll data. I'm here to help. Best wishes for you and your business!

.iif Import History

Thank you for the reply.  We import a .iif file provided to us by our payroll service that we just switched to.  I believe they are journal entry files, but will double check.  I am looking for some sort of history if .iif imports so I can confirm we have uploaded the transactions after each payroll.

.iif Import History

Thanks for coming back to this thread, Andy. Let me help you confirm if the transactions are uploaded successfully after importing the files.

If you have imported IIF files correctly, you can manually check those downloaded transactions in the register. This way, you'll be able to see the history of an account, including all past and recent transactions associated with it.

Also, you can pull up financial reports such as the Balance Sheet or Profit and Loss to review transactions added, making it easy to track finances.

Additionally, if the import fails, you'll receive a message stating specific transactions and lists failed and some are successfully imported. QuickBooks will automatically generate a new .iif file with error information for the failed records. Then, you'll need to correct those errors and import again with the corrected file.

For step-by-step guidance, kindly refer to this article: Improved IIF Import in QuickBooks.

Furthermore, you can check out this article if you require changes to reports based on business needs: Customize company and financial reports.

We're always available to assist if you require further clarification or assistance importing IIF files or any other QuickBooks-related concerns. Take care always.
