Importing timesheet data into Quickbooks 2024 Enterprise

We have to upgrade our current Quickbooks Enterprise 2021 software to 2024 in the coming months. At the same time we would like to upgrade our time recording software and time clocks. We just got off a call with the time clock software company, called UAttend, and had a handful of questions for them.

The main question was importing the time clock data into QB Enterprise 2024. The sales rep informed us that they can export to CSV files and that they have a connector to export to QB Enterprise, but it is from QB Enterprise 2018. Does anyone know if the connector from QB 2018 is still compatible with QB 2024, or if a CSV file would be the way to go and what limitations we might encounter using CSV? I found this link and this one, but neither mention importing time sheet data explicitly. Thank you

then use the importer tool to proceed. It's $199 one time license.

Importing timesheet data into Quickbooks 2024 Enterprise

Hello there, @jcclow.

Let me provide some information about importing timesheets into QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Enterprise.

Since the connector to export CSV files to QBDT isn't directly from us, I can't provide direct confirmation whether it will work seamlessly with QBDT 2024 as it does with QBDT 2018. You can contact UAttend's support team so they can confirm this matter. They could also guide you through the process of doing so.

Furthermore, QB Enterprise only accepts CSV file imports for the following:

  • Customers and Vendors
  • Items
  • Reports

Because of this, I recommend exploring third-party providers to import your data into QuickBooks. You can view the different apps compatible with QuickBooks here: Apps for QuickBooks Desktop. You can also check out @4Gal's suggestion above.

You may want to connect QuickBooks Time to QBDT. Here's an article about editing and syncing your data: Set up and use QuickBooks Desktop for Windows and QuickBooks Time integration.

I'm only a couple of clicks away if you have additional questions or any clarifications. Have an awesome day!

Importing timesheet data into Quickbooks 2024 Enterprise

Hello @4Gal and @AnneMariee...thank you both for the suggestions.

@4Gal I have reached out to the time clock software vendor to see if we can customize the output of the CSV file. If not, that would be a deal breaker for us because that would be a time consuming process to transfer all the info to the correct format.

@AnneMariee we will look into the options on the app page for time tracking. I've also shared the link for QuickBooks Time with the appropriate individuals to review.
