Is mileage entered as one way trip or round trip?

The Community has got your back, @user1magicpassion.

All the miles in the trip can be tracked even one way or round trips. You can use the automatic tracking feature to monitor your business miles automatically. You can also manually add the trips in QuickBooks in case you forgot to bring your device.

Then, to manage your trips and categorize them to the correct category, you can refer to this article: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Let me know if you need further assistance with tracking mileage in QuickBooks. I'm always around to help. Have a good one.

Is mileage entered as one way trip or round trip?

I have signed up with QB and now need to enter all my mileage in manually that I have kept track of. Mostly running to pick up product at the same location or FedEx for shipping and is strictly round trips. Is there a way to select round trip so I don't have to enter each leg (over 80 round trips)? There is no way to log multiple stops manually either. I have to enter each leg and this is a complete waste of time. I would think the development team would think this is a no brainer to add as I am sure most who use this tool feels the same way.

I can see how the auto tracking works but you have to remember each time you travel to enable it, especially if you use your vehicle for private and business use.

Is mileage entered as one way trip or round trip?

Hello there, Flybynight!

I also like the option to select roundtrip or enter multiple trips one at a time. I have something to share about this.

Currently, we can only enter a one-way trip in QuickBooks Self-Employed. I encourage you to send feedback about this to our developers. Click the Assistant button, enter Feedback, and select Add a feature.

Moving forward, it's best to set up the auto mileage tracking. Once it's turned on, you don't need to keep on enabling this feature. Though it tracks both business and personal trips, you still have to categorize them.

If you encountered an error in using the auto-tracking, check these links on how to fix it:
