Thanks for visiting the Community. Yes, there's a way and only a Master Admin of the payroll account can change it.
Here's how:
You can now receive the Security Key on the registered phone number. Also, you can specify up to five phone numbers per authorized user so you can still retrieve the security key.
For more information, read through this article: Security Key feature. It helps you learn how to retrieve the security key using the active phone number from other authorized users so you can change your phone number in the payroll section.

I've tried to change the number and tried to add a new number. It will not allow me to because it keeps sending the code to the number on file, which I no longer have. Is there another way I am missing.

Since the system still sends the code to the old number, I'd suggest you update the phone number on file by logging to https://accounts.intuit.com/index.html.
Once logged in, you will be routed to Intuit Account Settings page. Then, follow these steps below to edit your phone. Here's how:
You can now enter the direct deposit info. Check out this help article for your reference: Update an employee's direct deposit bank info.
