Congrats on making your first post here in the Community. Let's work together so that you're able to run payroll in your QuickBooks Online account.
To clarify, can you provide me with the details of what the employee profile needs or does it give you additional information about what the profile needs before moving forward?
Note: Sending a screenshot will assist us when researching the problem.
In the meantime, check out this guide about payroll to help you in the future: Process or run payroll.
I look forward to hearing from you again!
it does not give me details
Hello, billingatsoho.
I see you replied to this thread and had the same problem with the payroll setup before processing payroll.
Most of the time, there will be a yellow exclamation mark on the employee's profile indicating that tax information is missing. With that, I recommend that you review the Tax withholding section for employees. Since these are the details you must complete before running the payroll. Here's an article that you can use as a guide: Get started with QuickBooks Online Payroll.
If you've double-checked and confirmed that everything is in place, but the problem persists, I recommend contacting our Support Team. They have the resources necessary to conduct further investigation and, if necessary, create a ticket.

Let me know how it goes or if you still need further assistance with any payroll-related concerns. I'll be around if you need me.
I have the same issue and there is nothing that needs to be changed for the employees. They have been there for years.
Hi there, Alaine.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. Let's perform troubleshooting steps so you can get rid of the Needs attention and run payroll in QuickBooks Online.
The Needs Attention appears on the employee's details means that you need some information required and fill out. Since you've confirmed that there's nothing that needs to be changed, it seems the employee's profile is already set up completely. I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.
Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using:
If it works in incognito, you'll have to clear the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.
If the problem continues to occur, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account and be able to investigate the cause of the attention message. Also, ensure that you can run payroll accurately.
Lastly, you may refer to this article to see several payroll reports that you can use to view helpful information about your business and employees: Run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online Payroll.
I'm always here to help you whenever you need more assistance with QBO-related concerns or managing employees' details. Keep me in the loop by tagging me in your reply. Have a good one, Alaine.
