Making changes to 401k deduction and 401k catchup amazons not showing up when I try to do payroll

I made some changes to the amounts of 401k and 401-k catchup for over 55 deductions to the employee page. When I go to do payroll, those changes are not reflected, and the amounts are 0.0. I have not reached the limits on either.

Anyone have any pointers?

thank you!

Making changes to 401k deduction and 401k catchup amazons not showing up when I try to do payroll

Good to see you here, @zeno1. I’m here to share some possible causes of why changes in your deductions aren’t reflected in your employees’ paychecks and help you resolve it.

Sometimes, online platforms like QBO may take so long to display updated information due to multiple changes, poor Internet connection, data corruption, or browser-related issues. To get around this, I suggest refreshing the page or performing some troubleshooting steps. This helps trigger the system to reflect the changes you’ve made.

To start, open your QBO account in a private or incognito window for testing. You can use these shortcut keys below for quick navigation:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

Once logged in, try to run payroll and check the retirement amounts. If they show up correctly, get back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Doing this helps the program to run smoothly. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative.

I’ve attached some resources to learn more about the plan, yearly contribution limits, and the states that require employers to offer retirement plans to their employees:

I appreciate your time and effort. If you need further assistance managing your payroll, please don't hesitate to let me know. I’ll be right here to help and ensure everything is taken care of. Take care always and have a good rest!

Making changes to 401k deduction and 401k catchup amazons not showing up when I try to do payroll

Tried the above. In private mode, my deductions are showing as 0. On the employee profile they clearly show a deduction amount per paycheck. Even tried deleting history and cookies. No change. Same issue.

How do I get this resolved so I can run the last payroll for this year?

thanks for your help!
