Messsage about latest payroll forms

I am in IT. I have a CPA client that in QB Premier Accountant 2021 & 2022 they thought they were not getting the PR forms update.  I worked with the software and was able to get the updates successfully.  On this day (03-31-2023), the current versions show as Tax Table Version: 22308, Payroll Version 03270059. When attempting to print the 941 form (Sch B), they receive the message that the current form installed is the 2022 version, but at the top of the 941 form it shows 2023 and version of March 2023, so it seem that the message is bogus.

I also did apply all of the recent QB updates and ran the PR updates as well.

Screenshots attached...from QBPA 2021.

Messsage about latest payroll forms

Hello, LThibx.

I appreciate the screenshots and the details about the issue. I have a bunch of solutions to help us fix the fake error message from the 941 form.

The program updates may not have been applied properly, which prompted QuickBooks to display that "fake" error message.

Let's start with something simple. We'll want to close and re-open QuickBooks, then run the 941 forms again.

If you're still getting the fake error prompt, let's reset the program updates, then re-apply them properly. Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Help, then select Update QuickBooks Desktop
  2. Click the Update Now tab.
  3. Check the items on the table.
  4. Tick the Reset Update box.
  5. Click Get Updates.
  6. Wait for the prompts to finish.

After resetting, close any QuickBooks instances, then run it as an admin. Run the program updates again.

If you're still getting the "fake" error message, we can run the Tool Hub to fix any program-related issues. The installer with the steps and details are found here: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.

Also, we can add more than one screenshot. We just need to use the Insert photo function (Camera icon) instead of the attachment section (which only allows only one file).

After fixing the issue, if your client wants to review the payroll data before processing the forms, we can share this article with them: Create a payroll summary report in QuickBooks.

If you have other concerns about your client's payroll forms, let me know and I'll share a guide or two. Feel free to add any other questions you might have about QuickBooks. I'm here to help.
