My employee says QB now offers early pay to employees. I checked our settings and it's turned on, but can't figure out how to help him apply for a payday loan.

Apparently, it's where they can borrow money from their future pay

Glad to have you here on the Community page, DaMet.

QuickBooks Early Pay is the newest feature within QuickBooks Online Payroll, which is designed to meet the needs of small business employees by making access to money available between paydays.

To know more about the feature, here's an article for your reference: Get paid before payday with QuickBooks Early Pay. On the same link, you'll find other information like how much the fees and terms cost as well as how many advances you can take.

It'll be always my pleasure to help if you have any other questions. Just leave it in the comment section down below.

Hi, I've read the articles and watched the videos. Buy there still isn't an option in Workforce for the employees to apply for it

Welcome back, DaMet.

Let's make sure you as an employer and your employees are qualified to use the QuickBooks Early Pay in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Thank you!

It's very possible that we don't see it because both myself, and the employee who is asking about it have our pay split into more than one account.  I'll ask another employee to log in to Workforce and see if it's an option.  We have everything else that is listed in the article you posted.

Did you ever find a solution? I'm having the same issue. I contacted  Quickbooks and they told me its a Beta so it just comes and goes. That doesn't make any sense to me. I had been on chat and was transfered to 4 different people and didn't have any patience left. Two of them didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about.

Yes, QuickBooks Early Pay is in Beta which means it’s only available to a limited number of users right now until it is rolled out to everyone (who is eligible) at a later date.

Hi Anna,

Thank you for the response. I wouldn't think it would be an option to turn on or off on the employer end if it's wasn't available, but it looks like that isn't the case. Have you heard when it will be available to all? It's so odd because in all of the articles I've read, it says nothing about being in Beta or that it's only available to a select few.

Thanks for getting back on this thread, @Dmgibson. Allow me to clarify things about the Early Pay feature within QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Because we are in a limited introductory period, we have only released the QuickBooks Early Pay program to a limited number of QuickBooks Online Payroll small businesses and their employees.

While we're unable to provide the exact date when this feature becomes available to all, we plan on rolling this program out to all of our QuickBooks Payroll small businesses in the following months. Keep an eye out for our notification.

See this article for more details about the feature: Get paid before payday with QuickBooks Early Pay

In addition, you can also pull up a variety of payroll reports in QuickBooks. This will give you a closer look at your employee's total wages, deductions, and tax information in a certain period. For the complete list of available payroll reports and how to pull them up, kindly refer to this article: Run payroll reports.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns about the Early Pay feature in QuickBooks. I'm always willing to help. Take care and have a great day ahead!

This quick pay still seems to be unavailable have you decided to not launch it

Thanks for chiming in the thread, @Jeoffreymum.

I'm here to share some information about  the new early pay feature in QuickBooks Online.

You'll want to verify if your business meets these few requirements from QuickBooks:

  • Your business will need an active QBO Payroll subscription. Early Pay is unavailable with Intuit Online Payroll, standalone payroll, or trial subscriptions.
  • Early Pay must be turned on.
  • Employees will need to meet some additional criteria on their end. Early Pay loans are issued by WebBank.

Also, here are the several factors that your employees need to consider to be eligible for Early Pay:

  • How long has the employee worked for you?
  • Estimated number of hours worked in a pay period.
  • Pay rate or salary.
  • Must be on direct deposit.

Additionally, I recommend checking out this article for other FAQs for employers regarding the Early Pay feature: Get paid before payday with QuickBooks Early Pay.

In case you need help with managing your workers and employees in QBO, you can visit our general help topics page.

We're always here in the Community to help if you have other questions about managing your employees in QBO. Keep safe and have a great day ahead!

Did you notice how the QuickBooks associate never directly answered the question. They all have just been saying to review this and that to make sure that your business meets the qualifications. I think this was not a real feature.
