Need help fixing error "Your business miles cannot be greater than your total miles" on tax checklist page. I only have 700 miles marked out of 10000 total.

I've gone back through countless times and have exhausted every avenue of possible solutions i can come up with myself. Assumed I incorrectly put some info in but no. Nor did i misunderstand and put incorrect info in either as far as i can tell? I mean its pretty simple but this is ridiculous

Need help fixing error "Your business miles cannot be greater than your total miles" on tax checklist page. I only have 700 miles marked out of 10000 total.

Thank you for providing the error you're encountering, Zak. I'm here to help you how to fix this matter.

In QuickBooks Self-Employed, it's important to choose the right categorization for your trips to avoid any errors. Additionally, be sure to check if there's a double entry or if you entered the wrong info. You can follow the steps below to edit or delete a trip:

  1. Go to the Miles menu located at the left navigation panel.
  2. Choose either the Business or Personal tab. You can also click All to view all of the trips.
  3. Find and click the trip for you to edit.
  4. You can now change it according to your preference. Then select Save.

If the issue persists, you can use other supported web browsers or private browsers to rule out any browsing history or cached files causing the problem. Here are the shortcut keys for accessing private browsers:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

I'll be here if you need further assistance. Just let me know and I'll be glad to help you.
