I finally got someone on chat and this is what she said:
"Got it- yes the product experts are aware of this issue and the employees will 100% be paid today, there was a glitch within the system which has caused this issue that is across the entire QBO platform unfortunately, BUT they will be paid today :)"
Then I asked her why we didn't get notified and she said the emails were also affected by the outage.
So now we wait....
