Hi All,
We've been using QB Assisted Payroll and with next-day direct deposit.
You can imagine my concern today, Thursday 7/28, when we went to process payroll for Friday 7/29 paychecks when QB now said the payroll was late.
We accepted the late fee to process the payroll, but not sure if the employees will get paid tomorrow.
Does anyone know if QB Assisted Payroll discontinued next-day direct deposit?
I’ve got some information to share about funding time, @accountant_in_louisiana.
In QuickBooks Desktop Assisted Payroll with next-day direct deposit, employees are paid the next banking day after you send your payroll to us. This lead time is still continued and offered in the program.
QuickBooks will only prompt that payroll is late when you approve your paychecks after 5PM PT. Please know that before 5 PM, you must submit or approve your payroll to get your employees paid on time.
If you’ve missed the cut-off time, your direct deposit will process the next business day. It means your workers will get paid a day later.
You can contact our Payroll Support team if you want to track this transaction. Our representatives can assist you further to ensure employees get their pay.

We have been using assisted payroll for 2 years and have recently had had similar issues. After an update was done in April, we have had issues with all of our pay periods. In addition, we have payroll information missing from our books due to being told to either delete or to void the direct deposits by QB payroll support. We have also discovered that the taxes and liabilities were being deducted incorrectly. Every time we have contacted payroll support, we are told the issue is resolved only to have the same issue two weeks later when we try to process payroll. On 7/27/22 we spoke to Tiffany and was told to send her an email with our concerns and when doing so we received an error message with no such email address. I have attached the email

PLEASE FORWARD TO UPPER MANAGEMENT. THESE ARE SERIOUS ISSUES
Tiffany,
Thank you for working with me. I thought our issue was solved, however, since our conversation, we have discovered multiple concerns with our QB desktop payroll. I’m afraid these issues could cause serious payroll liabilities (taxes etc) in the future if not taken care of immediately.
Payroll issues:
4/18/22-5/1/22 Zero Balance
5/2/22-5/15/22 NO data
5/16/22-5/29/22 Showing complete
5/30/22-6/12/22 NO data
6/13/22-6/26/22 Showing complete
6/27/22-7/10/22 NO data
7/11/22-7/24/22 Showing complete
7/27/22 QB showing Still Open
Also, For this last pay period (7/11/22-7/24/22) I printed out the paystubs only to discover the pay period shows 06/28/22-7/11/22 !
Please have someone contact me directly, on my cell, to take care of this immediately. 706-997-7149.
Thank you,

Kimberly,
It's been a pleasure speaking with you today. Here is our case number from today. 1585687580. Your payroll that was submitted on 7/27/2020 is in the processing state for the payroll for July 24, 2022.
You should be receiving your actual email confirmation within the next hour or two. I do apologize that the system is lagging and causing disturbances with the payroll.
Again, it was a pleasure speaking with you.
Have a wonderful day.
Customer Service,
Tiffany

I typically upload payroll on Wednesday for Friday but this week I was running behind. I have used the next day option a couple of times in the last 2 years, no problem. This week I got the same message to which you refer! I had no choice but to let my employees know that they would be getting paid on Monday due to a payroll system glitch. It looked like even paying the $100 fee would still not get them paid on Friday, but simply have the payroll dated on Friday, so there seemed little reason to pay Intuit more for an Intuit glitch. I tried today to follow up with Intuit via chat, but the person said she wasn't versed in payroll and provided me a link. The link was useless. I have no solution for you, just commiseration and validation that there is indeed something wrong and that help is not easy to obtain.
I also attempted to run a Friday payroll (assisted) on Thursday at 2pm EDT, well before the 5pm PDT . I received the late message and the notice to pay additional to have payroll dated on Friday, but Direct Deposit would still occur on Monday. There is a glitch in the next-day system that needs to be fixed. Reaching out to the help chat was not adequate. The person said she was not able to help on payroll, and sent me a link that was not appropriate for resolving or understanding the issue either. I don't use next-day often, but when I needed to it failed me. Please fix the glitch.
We accepted the $100 fee, processed the payroll, and the employees did receive their paycheck on the friday.
But two of the employees had no tax withheld from their paycheck!
I have to follow up with Assisted Payroll to figure out what's going on.
This is the first time I have considered to recommend a payroll service outside of QB.
Totally unacceptable on the part of Intuit! I hope they refund your $100 while they try to sort out the withholding tax issue. Best of luck to you.
This is crazy, I am having the same issues and have been since April. In addition, I have taxes due that Intuit can't pay because they said the employee's information was incorrect in my files. I reviewed all of my files and there are no errors. I have contacted support 7 times and the issues are still not corrected.
I am currently looking for an alternative to the QB assisted payroll system.
