It happened to me  back in May.  When I had asked a question the chat came up and i chatted with a supposedy quick books expert,  and they had someone call me.  quick books had done an update and a years worth of posting was missing 

This quick books person wanted over  a thousand dollars to fix it.  This was all done remotely.   I did manage to find all the files that were downloaded and get rid of them.   Makes you leary though.    I did post the persons name and phone number of who i was talking to but who knows if anything was done about t.

Just FYI, these have all been being reported for YEARS.  Intuit/ QB doesn't seem to really care, even though they will tell you they "take it seriously".  If it was being taken serious, it wouldn't be as bad as it is, including the employees that are doing some of it.

Clark_B, I appreciate this information, and I will use this information to report what is continuing to be an ongoing problem for me. But I do want to be clear the emails they are using do say intuit.com (I even opened a legitimate email to compare it, they were identical) and I had 2 open tickets with QB when it happened to me. I was very leery I made them email me and I called them and made them call me back I finally got my tech guy on the phone, and he shut it down by researching their phone number and figuring out they were not legit.  But they are Braisen and every time I called the bluff they held fast to the con. I called QB on the other line and she told me "Yes unfortunately there is a lot of this happening now and we are sorry but yes, it is a scam". No mention of what to do who to report it to or anything. Not helpful at all!  But again, thank you for your response!

@Clark_B   I think you need to go research Phishing. How do you think these scammers are getting away with using YOUR email addresses and phone numbers?  THE SCAMMER ONES END THE SAME WAY!!  THAT"S WHY and HOW IT'S A SCAM. 

Stop telling people different and do your research.
