The Xing it ad out if exactly the distraction I refer to. Why? To help my experience you say. Well, it doesn't help, it hinders... Many online pages and such show ads but when a viewer donates or pays for the service, the ads go away. I imagine I am like others who ask when they need help or suggestions. The whole advertising the way it's done is intrusive and actually damages the experience paying hundreds of dollars. I am looking for a different way to keep my books, period.
Hello, @TS1956! We appreciate that you have responded to us on this thread. We understand it wasn't ideal for you, and the pop-up ads may interfere with your work. Let me share some information about this behavior.
We always value the views and opinions of our users, as this can help us develop a product that suits their business needs.
While completely disabling them is unavailable, you may submit a feature request directly to our product developers. This way, they can evaluate the possibility of removing the ads entirely. Here's how to send feedback:
Our product engineers will consider your suggestions, and you can always check the status of your request through this link: QuickBooks Online Customer Feedback.
Please extend your patience about this matter. If you have any other QuickBooks queries, please leave them in the comments section below. I'm only a few clicks away from assisting you once more. Have a wonderful day!
You haven't addressed the issue at all. You say that the engineers will consider user feedback, but the user response is quite clear. We already pay for the service, and should not be hassled to purchase additional services every time we try to conduct our business.
We shouldn't need to rely on adblockers, pop-up blockers, etc. either.
I agree. This is becoming disruptive to the user experience. Quickbooks should put new features and functions in a menu on the left and allow me to hit that choice when and if I am interested in new features and functions. I do not want to be sold when I am already paying a high subscription fee.
Hello there, @Cyler.
It looks like you've already posted this here in the Community space, and one of our colleagues was able to provide a recommendation to help you with your query. You can check this link to see her response:
You can visit us anytime if you have additional questions or need assistance managing your QuickBooks subscription. We'll be around to help you out. Keep safe.
Hi Kurt, please don't frame this as a question has been answered elsewhere. The linked recommendation is to send a suggestion to the development team, and I'm sure they've received several.
But until they, or some other sub-department, actually takes steps to resolve this issue, its important to spread awareness of customer discontent.
If anything, your response conveys the notion that Intuit knows the consumer doesn't like this, and doesn't care because they think ignoring the complaints will ultimately be more profitable.
I got the same answer when I called in to discuss. I have 2 single property real estate LLC's and have to pay 2 subscription fees to have them (Desktop was better and cheaper and one program) and have to keep x'ing out suggestions or ads for payroll, visa processing, loans etc. I will never process payroll or take a loan from QB or process cards. I just want it to stop and to be able to do my book keeping in peace without all this nonsense. It is infuriating.
Then to get these answers like the engineers will work on it when it was the engineers who built it.
Ridiculous.
This is being marked as solved and it is not solved. Until you remove the advertising from my work screen you have not solved the problem. I have added the information for the development team. This item needs to be a high priority or you will lose customers like me.
I agree. I have been using Quickbooks since the very start 20-something years ago. It used to be a great product, now it just feels like every iteration is just another way to extract more money out of users. The advertisements when paying so much for this software every year is such an insult.
I have to agree with the posters here. It is not an engineering/software/feature decision, it is a marketing and policy decision that is highly disruptive to work. Is there someone relatively high enough to make policy and Marketing decisions?
I fully agree with the other users here, again I'm receiving ads for Quickbooks itself and they keep coming back for all my subscriptions.
They can not be blocked by blocking popups at it's an internal box appearing on the Quickbooks screen.
Very annoying and it does not help me at all showing Quickbooks.
I agree, when I come home from 10 hours of working on the tools and just want to QUICKLY do my receipts, the LAST thing I want is more garbage to cancel or say no to. FIX IT NOW or I’m going to Xero
I'm chuckling...sounds like the community is finally figuring out what the push to go to subscription based service is all about. Good luck!
