We use to be able to pay the 941 weekly tax deposit quickly in Intuit payroll. I always paid this weekly tax as soon as possible with intuit.IOP. I never waited until the last minute., But QB payroll makes us wait to the last minute.
example our work week was 5-23-2022 to 5/29/22. Monday thru Sunday
In IOP i could have run payroll on Monday 5-30 and scheduled to pay my 941 weekly as soon as 6-2-2022. But the first date QB allows me to schedule the tax payment is 6-6-2022. Why can I not schedule an earlier date than the last possible date? Is it because QB is holding our money to the last minute so they can gain interest?
Please explain.
Thanks
Hi there, @laura1960.
Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the QuickBooks Community for support.
Intuit doesn't control when the IRS will pull the funds when paying federal tax payments. The IRS will directly debit your bank account on the payment date. We'll withdraw the funds from your bank account at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific time), two banking days before the payment date for most state tax payments.
In some states, the timing for tax payments is different. Some state tax agencies directly debit the funds on the payment date (similar to federal payments). Some other state agencies require a lead time that's longer than two banking days.
You can see additional information in Check e-file and e-pay status in Online Payroll.
You are wrong.
I used Intuit Online Payroll for over 11 years before I was forced to change to QBonline payroll.
With Intuit Online Payroll I could make the weekly federal deposit the exact day I submitted payroll or i could pick any date I want.
Thank you for using our payroll feature for 11 years and counting, @laura1960.
Depositing the payroll tax funds at the date of your choice is my priority. I'll share information to clarify the problem with scheduling tax payments in QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP).
In QBOP, you can choose a specific date for your payroll taxes. However, the IRS directly withdraws the federal funds from your bank account on the original payment date.
For example:
The original payment date is June 10, 2022, but you schedule the payroll tax for June 9, 2022. The IRS will withdraw the amount on June 10.
