Join nowDoes anyone know which payroll report I can run in desktop that will give me the payroll summary for the last week of the year and not the entire pay period in the new year? I need to do a JE for the last week.
The summary and detail both include the entire pay period. I don't want to have to go through each employees record and figure manually. I'm sure I'm just missing something.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
Thanks for dropping by here in the Community, @Sandi333. I'll walk you through the process to help you get the payroll data that you need in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company.
Know that you can customize the Payroll Summary report and choose a specific date to see the data for the last week of the year. This way, only significant detail appears in your payroll report. I'll gladly input the steps below to get you started. To begin, here's how:
For more details about modifying a payroll report in QBDT, please see this article: Customize payroll and employee reports.
In addition, if you want to keep your current report settings and have them carry over the next time you run the report, feel free to visit this page: Create, access and modify memorized reports.
Also, if you got time to spare, I recommend checking this article to learn more about how to set up reports and scheduled them in QBDT: Set up and modify Scheduled Reports.
Thanks for choosing QuickBooks for your business, @Sandi333. Feel free to post here again if you need help performing specific tasks inside your company file. It'll be my pleasure to assist you once again. Take care, and have a good one!
Thank you KurtKyle -
I tried this - but unfortunately, it does not break down the last week of the year vs the 1st week. It only gives me the total from the paydate. It must have something to do with importing the IIF file from our timeclock.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks for getting back quickly and following the steps above, @Sandi333. I really appreciate it.
Let me add additional customization steps to achieve your reporting task in QuickBooks as early as possible.
Ensure that the reporting period is accurate and the Show columns field is filtered to Week. This way, you can see the employee week breakdown. See the sample screenshots below for more reference:
If the issue persists, I advise you to review your IIF file data. This may be the reason why you can't see the employee payroll breakdown. For further help checking the data, please contact an IT professional, as Intuit doesn't offer assisted technical support for IIF.
In addition, check out the following articles below to know how to review IIF errors and other tasks you can do to your data:
You're always welcome to reply if you have other questions about managing your employee reports. I'm enthusiastic about helping you again. Keep safe!
