You may haven't completed and filed the form, @sheila22.

If you're using a Do it Yourself payroll, you'll have to file the NC-5 directly to the state website: NCDOR.

Otherwise, if you're using a Full-Service Payroll, I recommend reaching out to the Payroll Support Team. This way, they can verify why it wasn't submitted and help you file the form.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Click on Contact Us.
  3. Enter your questions or concerns and click on Let's talk.

I have assisted payroll and quickbooks is not filing the NC-5 form for me and will not let me create the form using the system. It tells me that quickbooks does this for me which is not true. I do not know what values to put in the fields to file it myself.

Hello there,

Thanks for joining in this conversation. NC-5 is a withholding return, and it's one of the payroll tax forms that Intuit file on your behalf.

At this point, I'd recommend you contact our QuickBooks Assisted Payroll support for further assistance.
