Running Payroll in Sample Company

Recently, I can no longer run payroll in the sample company. I am currently working through the process to become QBO Payroll certified, and now I cannot. do the practice exercises.

What am I doing wrong?

Running Payroll in Sample Company

Thank you for reaching out regarding the payroll feature in the sample company file, Chet664506!

I'd like to inform you that the sample company file provided by QuickBooks Online does not include the payroll functionality. It's designed to showcase the basic features of the software, but payroll is not one of them.

If you remember signing up for a trial version, it's possible that the trial period may have expired, which would explain why you can no longer access the payroll feature. The trial period is limited, and once it ends, certain advanced features, including payroll, become inaccessible until you subscribe to a paid plan.

If you're interested in using the payroll feature and getting hands-on experience with it, I recommend subscribing to a trial version of QuickBooks Online that includes the payroll module. This way, you can fully explore and practice payroll functionalities as you work through the process to become QBO Payroll certified.

  1. Follow this link for the plan: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/
  2. Turn on the Free trial for 30 days switch.
  3. Choose a QBO and a payroll plan and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the setup.

On the other hand, if you're looking for additional references on QBO payroll, you can explore this resource: Help Articles for QBO Payroll.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with selecting the right subscription plan, please feel free to ask. We're here to help you make the most out of your experience with QuickBooks Online and the payroll feature.
