Scheduled Payroll requiring me to re-set up employees

When I click Start Scheduled Payroll I am told I need to set up employees before I can pay them, however nothing has changed in my payroll schedule or employee details in years, so why am I getting this message? Is there a way to avoid re-setting up all of my employees?

Thanks for taking the time to post here in the Community, @ks16

Let's perform some steps so you're able to run the scheduled payroll.

Your company file might have data damage, which is why you're getting an error when clicking Start Scheduled Payroll

To help fix this, you'll first need to use the Verify Data utility since it helps to identify the most common data issues. Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu at the top.
  2. Select Utilities, then choose Verify Data.
  3. Click OK if the program detected no problems with your data.

Then, you can run the Rebuild Data utility since it fixes most data integrity issues. Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu at the top.
  2. Select Utilities, then choose Rebuild Data.
  3. Click OK when you receive a warning message to backup your company file.
  4. Choose OK when you see Rebuild has completed.

For more information, you can check out this helpful article: Resolve Data Damage On Your Company File

Once done, you can download the latest payroll tax table to ensure your payroll has correct details. Then, please make sure that the payroll schedule dates are correct before running scheduled payroll

This will get you back on track, @ks16. I'll be around to help if you have other payroll concerns. Have a great day.
