Setting up a new bank accounts for payroll processing.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, betty.vangorder. I'd be more than happy to guide you through setting up a company bank account for Online Payroll.

Initially, there's some information you'll need:

  • Bank account and routing numbers.
  • Online banking credentials.
  • Principal officer's legal name, social security number, birth date, and home address.

Once you have everything together, the account can be connected. If you're banking with one of our eight partner banks, the process is instant. Other financial institutions can be synced through our regular bank verification process. This can take up to 3 business days.

Here's how it's done:

  1. On your Connecting your bank screen, use the available search field to find the bank you're looking for.
  2. Choose an appropriate selection.
  3. Pick Connect using your routing and account numbers.
  4. Enter your Bank account number and Bank routing number, then hit Next.
  5. Confirm your business information.
  6. Complete verification of the principal officer's details.
  7. Click Submit.
  8. A test transaction will appear in your account within 2 business days to complete the process. An email will be sent with further instruction.

If you have prior payroll tax payments, the set up process is a little bit different. I've included a video showing how to connect banks in such scenarios:
