Stop asking me to verify my account. From the same computer that I use everyday at work. Its annoying.

Welcome to the Community, mnorland.

Allow me to share a little information about the verification process when logging in to QuickBooks Online.

Verifying your identity helps you protect your data and your Intuit account. This is to make sure that you, and only you, can access your account. However, if you wish to remember the system your user ID and password, you can check your browser settings to prevent on clearing your history's data after closing the browser.

Here's how:

  1. Open the Chrome Toolbar (3 lines to the right of the URL window) and then select Settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Advanced.
  3. Go to Content settings.
  4. Click Cookies.
  5. Disable Keep local data only until you quit your browser.

I've attached screenshots to guide you through the steps.

Hi there, @grsgsrg.

As of now, the remember my log-in credentials in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is currently not possible. I understand how this option can benefit you and other users when logging in into there QBDT software.

I'll submit this feature request on your behalf to our product engineers so they'll consider adding this in the future.

To learn what's new and what's coming in QuickBooks, you can visit our Product Updates page for reference.

In case you need to reset your password in your QBDT, here's an article you can read for the details (read Reset the admin password section): Reset your password for QuickBooks Desktop.

You can always contact us if you have any other concerns or questions with your QBDT. I'm always here to help. Happy holidays!

This information and the screen shots are out of date. This setting is not available in Chrome.

Hi @ibcbonaire,

Yes, what you said is right. The location of the Cookies setting for Google Chrome is different compared to the earlier post.

Here are the steps to view the Cookies setting of a recent version of Chrome:

  1. Click the Chrome toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Scroll down and look for Privacy and security.
  4. Tap Site Settings.
  5. Hit Cookies and site data.
  6. Ensure that Clear cookies and site data when you quit Chrome is disabled.

If you bump into any other issues related to logging in to your Intuit account, take a look at this article: Get help if you can't sign in to your account. It lists different scenarios, along with the steps to resolve that situation.

QB asks to email me a code EVERY time I login on Chrome.  It doesn't ask me for the code in incognito mode though, so I "reset settings to their original defaults" on chrome.

That worked for a day, but now QB still asks for the emailed code every time.  Chrome is saving the QB cookies (see attached screenshot).

Do you know what is causing this problem?

Hi there, @pws3.

Welcome to the Community. I can help you figure out why it's always asking for a code when accessing your QuickBooks account.

Since it works fine in incognito mode, the browser's stored cache and cookies may be the problem. It can cause unusual behavior in QuickBooks Online (QBO), such as requiring a code every time you log in.

Please go to your regular browser and clear its cache & cookies. Aside from reverting to default settings, this helps restore the default setup of the browser too.

Make sure to only clear Intuit-specific cookies. This helps refresh website preferences that might be causing problems when you use QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, I recommend you proceed with using another supported web engine. This way, we'll be able to determine if the problem is browser-related.

Thanks, but I have already tried clearing the cache and cookies.

It works for a day or so, but then it will go back to asking for the emailed code every time again.

I appreciate you for trying the steps laid out by my colleague, pws3.

At this time, it would be best if one of our Phone Support agents will do a screen-share with you and verify what causes the issue.

Let me guide you how:

  1. Click the ? Help icon.
  2. On the Assistant tab, select Talk to a human.
  3. Enter, The system keeps asking for a confirmation code.
  4. Select I still need a human.
  5. Click Get help from a human.
