Hello there, @Mike H2. Welcome to the Community.

The company name and tax id on your 1099s are based on the information indicated on the Review your company info page while you prepare the forms. Let's go back to the Prepare 1099 page to correct your company details. I'm here to guide you how.

  1. Go to the Expenses menu.
  2. Select Vendors.
  3. Click the Prepare 1099s button.
  4. Choose the Continue your 1099s button.
  5. On the Prepare 1099s page, go back to Step 1 (Company). Then, verify your company name and tax id in the Review your company info field.
  6. To correct the business name and tax id, click the Pencil icon in the far right.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Complete the forms and file them when finished.

I've attached a screenshot below that shows the fifth to seventh steps.

Also, here's an article to further guide you in troubleshooting any possible 1099 issues in QBO: Troubleshoot common 1099 issues. It includes topics about correcting amounts and misaligned forms to name a few.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below. I'm just around to help if you have other printing concerns or inquiries about 1099 forms in QBO. Take care always.

I've got some troubleshooting steps, so the company name and tax id populate correctly, @Mike H2.

The online platform uses a web cache to improve and speeds up browsing. However, these can sometimes become corrupted or gets outdated, which can cause issues.

You can open your account in an incognito or private window, then redo the process. Here are the shortcuts keys below for quick navigation:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

If it works, shift back to your regular browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative. In addition, it would be best to utilize the Health Checkup Tool. It is used to check multiple aspects of the browser to make sure the application runs seamlessly.

Here some resources and tutorials that contain complete instructions to prepare and file your 1099’s in QBO. It includes details to access forms and their filing status.

I’d be happy to help if you have other 1099 concerns. Just drop a comment below, and I'll back to you as soon as I can. Take care!
