The new 2020 IRS form W4 does not ask for allowances. How do I add employee federal tax to QB?

Hello, @kjamroz.

You can enter your employee's federal tax information in the Employee Information window. Just make sure that your QuickBooks software and payroll tax table is updated to the latest table. This way, you can see the option for the 2020 W4 form. I can guide you on how to do it.

  1. Go to the Employees menu.
  2. Choose the Employee Center.
  3. From the Employees tab, double-click on the employee's name.
  4. Select the Payroll Info tab.
  5. Click the Taxes button.
  6. Pick the Federal tab.
  7. Choose 2020 and later from the Form W4 drop-down.
  8. Enter your employees' tax information.
  9. Click Ok.

You can read through this article for more detailed information: Form W-4 Changes and Updates.
