Tracking payroll across multiple classes--Quickbooks Online

Is this feature available? I've looked through previous discussion on this forum and it doesn't appear so. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Tracking payroll across multiple classes--Quickbooks Online

The option to track payroll over multiple classes isn't available in QuickBooks Online Payroll, cwolf1. I'll get this opportunity to tap our Product Development Team to bring in this feature. Rest assured, our Product engineers are striving hard to develop the best features to suit the needs of our customers

Though, you have the option to assign a class for each employee. To learn more about the Class feature, check out the Get started with class tracking in QuickBooks Online article. It provides an overview of how to set up a class list as well as instructions to create a budget by category.

In the meantime, you can visit our Blog site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features. The new things are always rolling out for QuickBooks to make work easier. Here's the link: The QuickBooks Blog.

Let me know if you have any other concerns or questions about the product. I’m more than happy to assist further. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Tracking payroll across multiple classes--Quickbooks Online

We switched to QuickBooks Online Advanced and Payroll Premium and use QuickBooks Time at the beginning of this year.  We also have the need to track employees time across several classes. Is this available?  We have each employee clocking into the correct class in QB Time but it does not seem to sync with Payroll and Accounting.

If we created projects in Time and employees clocked into projects, would that sync the applicable project wages to QB Payroll and Accounting?

Yes, it will, Terra. I'd be glad to provide insights about the syncing process of QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll.

Once you successfully set up the integration process for your QuickBooks Time account to QBO Payroll, the project wages and other necessary payroll entries will automatically be populated and calculated into your QBO Payroll once the Primary approves the time entries.

You can check out this article for more details about the integration setup: Set up your QuickBooks Time account in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Furthermore, I recommend contacting the QBO Payroll Support Team if you need further guidance and explanation on how the payroll is tracked and how project wages are calculated during the exporting process.

Stay around here if you have other questions related to QuickBooks. It's always my pleasure to help you out again. Keep safe!
