I'm here to help you change the work location for your employee, @nancy42

 

If you're not able to see the employment tab, I suggest clearing the cache and cookies from your browser to give it a fresh start. The data collected by the cache and cookies can sometimes slow down the browser and cause errors in QuickBooks Online. 

 

Change work location

 

1. Go to Workers, then select Employees

2. Choose the employee's name you want to change the location for. 

3. Click the pencil icon in the Employment tab.

4. From the Work Location drop-down, click on New Work Location

5. Enter the information for the new work location. 

6. Select OK, then Done

Want to change work location on employee, the instructions given do not work as the edit and employment sections do not exist, what do I do??

I need the same help too.  When you click on add new state, there's a pop up asking you to "Contact us to add a work location in another state".  Is there an e-mail or phone number you can use to contact them?  I am sorry, very new to quickbook and already feel the frustration.

Hello there, @VantagePros.

 

You'll want to call our QuickBooks Payroll Support team to add a new work location in a different state. They have tools to update this information and assist you to get it done.

 

Here's how: 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company account.
  2. Click the Help icon on the top right.
  3. Click the Contact Us button at the bottom.
  4. Enter a short description of your concern.
  5. Click on Let's talk.
  6. Choose to Get a callback.
  7. Enter your information.
  8. Select Call me.
