If you're not able to see the employment tab, I suggest clearing the cache and cookies from your browser to give it a fresh start. The data collected by the cache and cookies can sometimes slow down the browser and cause errors in QuickBooks Online.
Change work location
1. Go to Workers, then select Employees.
2. Choose the employee's name you want to change the location for.
3. Click the pencil icon in the Employment tab.
4. From the Work Location drop-down, click on New Work Location.
5. Enter the information for the new work location.
6. Select OK, then Done.

I need the same help too. When you click on add new state, there's a pop up asking you to "Contact us to add a work location in another state". Is there an e-mail or phone number you can use to contact them? I am sorry, very new to quickbook and already feel the frustration.

You'll want to call our QuickBooks Payroll Support team to add a new work location in a different state. They have tools to update this information and assist you to get it done.
