What do I do about Fiver contractors and 1099s?

I hired a few freelance contractors this year for website help and some other things for my business. Being that they all fell under 600$ seperately, do I just go without a 1099 or do I send Fiverr a 1099? Not sure how this would work

What do I do about Fiver contractors and 1099s?

Hello @naroth audio,

Welcome to the Community. I can share details about 1099s that will help with filling forms in QuickBooks Online.

You're only required to file a 1099-MISC for independent contractors you've paid at least $600 or more in the previous year. I recommend checking the IRS website or contacting them to determine if sending the forms is necessary.

Here's the link that contains the information you need for your freelance contractors: https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/am-i-required-to-file-a-form-1099-or-o....

Additionally, I recommend visiting the following article to learn more about the due dates for 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC (scroll down to How do I file my 1099 forms?): Get answers to your 1099 questions.

Feel free to drop a comment anytime you have questions concerning filling 1099 forms in QuickBooks. I'll be more than happy to help you out.

You do not need to send any 1099s in this case.  Regardless of who you actually paid (Fiverr or the freelancers), you don't need to issue 1099-NECs when total payments were less than $600 (in the case of the freelancers) or the payment was made to a corporation (Fiverr is a publicly-traded company).
