What if our employees do not want to defer their Social Security taxes until next year?

Our employees would rather not defer their social security taxes until next year, can they opt out of that executive order?

Hey there, roseburgstc.

Federal Form 941 and Form W2 reporting changes will also be needed to correctly report deferral amounts Therefor, at this time, we ask that you hold tight as the US Treasury is working on issuing guidance surrounding the implementation of the deferral and we will continue to keep you up to date with the latest information. Regarding if you want to defer or not. In the meantime, check out the latest payroll news and updates.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to post down below. Thank you for your time and have a nice afternoon.

That didn't answer the question on do we have to defer the social security taxes if the employees would rather continue paying them.

To ensure that we are inline with the IRS guidelines, I'd recommend reaching out to the IRS support or to your accountant. They know what's best for you and your books.

Once they've verified your scenario, they can give you additional options to get through with this.
