What is the employer account number

Let me share what I know about identification numbers.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), there are two types of numbers indicated within your Company Settings: EIN and SSN. An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a unique number assigned to a business by a state government for tax reporting purposes. It's like a Social Security Number (SSN) for your business. Since you have mentioned that your prompt is invalid, it's important to ensure that you click and enter the correct identification number.

If you're using an Employer Identification Number (EIN), please ensure to follow the correct number format, which is 12-3456789 (XX-XXXXXXX). If you are using a Social Security Number (SSN), it is important to contact your State agency to confirm that you have the correct account numbers.

Here are some articles that you can check to learn more about identification numbers:

I've also included this link in case you need to change your business name, contact info, or EIN in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be here to help you whenever you have further questions about EIN.
