Where do I find my Form 941 in QBO?

I can't find where my tax forms are to file them correctly. I am not quite ready to have QBO do it for me, so I want to see the forms and submit them on my own.

Where do I find my Form 941 in QBO?

Good day, @CSoren. I'm here to help you find your tax forms so you can manually submit them. 

 

Before we proceed, let's review your taxes and forms preference to know how you set your payroll taxes and filings to be handled. Since you want to file them on your own, make sure to I’ll pay and file the right agencies through their website or by mail in Payroll Settings.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, and select Payroll Settings.
  2. From the Taxes and forms section, click Edit ✎.
  3. If you want to handle your taxes and filings yourself, choose I’ll pay and file the right agencies through their website or by mail.
  4. Select Save, then Done.

 

If you want to print any tax forms from QuickBooks to send to the agencies, we recommend adding your account numbers and how often you pay your taxes. For more info, check step two in the Payroll and file your taxes and filings yourself section of this article: Set up QBO Payroll to pay and file your payroll taxes and forms.

 

Once done, you can follow these steps to view your 941 tax forms and file them manually:

 

  1. Go to Taxes, and click Payroll tax.
  2. Select Filings.
  3. You’ll see your forms to file under Action Needed. Forms due later will show in Coming Up. You can click Filter to find the specific form you need faster.
  4. Select File on the form you want to file.
  5. Click Record filing to add filed taxes to your record.

 

Moreover, you can run payroll reports in QuickBooks to gain insights about your employee info, wages, taxes, deductions, and many more.

Thank you for the help. This worked. I was able to find my form after I changed it to "I’ll pay and file the right agencies through their website or by mail". Thank you for the help. I wish the Online version was as easy to use as the Desktop version. I regret switching honestly.

However, I agree with @FishingForAnswers that we anticipate the release to occur in the second week or last week of April 2025. For the meantime, while waiting for the update, you can visit the IRS official website to access the most recent version of the form.
 
Rest assured that once IRS releases new versions of the form, QuickBooks Online (QBO) will quickly integrate these updates into the system. This ensures that you will always have access to the most up-to-date version of the form, which is essential for accurate and compliant quarterly tax filings. To make sure you are informed when the updated form is available, it is important to closely monitor any notifications within the QBO platform or to keep an eye on updates sent to the email account associated with your QBO subscription.
