I can help you locate your 1099 document, leogtz.

You can access you 1099 in the Document section once your employer prepared and submitted it to the IRS. You'll receive an email invitation to view it in online. You can either click the link from the email you received or directly through the QBSE website.

  1. From the left menu click Clients.
  2. Select the Client you'll want to view your 1099 from.
  3. Click the Tax forms tab.

If you need anything else, I'll be here to help. Have a great day!

I can't find the Documents section. I looked at the articles. It says to click 'clients.' There is no 'clients' button. It doesn't appear anywhere.
My bookkeeper says click 'shared documents.' That simply is not on my computer.
I logged in on my husband's computer with Firefox. It looked the same as mine, using Chrome.

No documents button.

please see the file attached.

Hi there, @deevee

Thank you for posting to the Community.

I've checked with the file you've attached it seems you directly log in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed. First, we need to accept the invitation sent by your client. Make sure to log in through the invite and input with your QBSE credential.

Once done, you'll be routed to QuickBooks Self-Employed portal, and the document will automatically sync in once the invitation accepted.

Here's how to view the document:

  1. From the left pane click Clients.
  2. Click the Client you'll want to view your 1099 from.
  3. Hit the Tax forms tab.

I recommend this article for more details about 1099 in QBSE: 1099s in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Also, I've attached these Help Articles in case you have any other questions about QuickBooks Self-Employee (QBSE).

Please let me know how it goes. I'm here to provide any additional assistance if needed. Have a good one.
