Why has my auto mileage stopped working all of a sudden, after 2 years no issues? all settings are check marked green, all permissions are correct, nothing has changed

I know tracking miles can easily identify inefficiencies, eliminate unnecessary trips, and optimize routes leading to cost saving. Let's fix your mileage issue so it shows the trips in your end, Sobel.

One of the reasons why mileage stops working, it's because your device is having trouble tracking mileage in slow-moving traffic and recording the specific address of a trip. Please know the app has a couple of settings you can turn on to improve the accuracy of this information. To enable the setting, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the Menu ☰ icon.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose Mileage settings.
  4. To improve accuracy in slow-moving traffic, turn on the Track slow speed trips setting.
  5. To improve accuracy recording addresses, turn on the Boost location accuracy setting.

If the list of items in the "Avoid missed trips" section has a green checkmark in your mileage settings, then your settings are good to go. However, if you come across an exclamation mark (!), don't worry. Simply follow the on-screen steps to make the necessary adjustments to your settings and ensure a smooth and accurate tracking of your trips.

If the issue persists, you can continue performing the steps found in this article. I've added this article for more information: Fix Mileage Tracking Issues in QuickBooks Self-Employed for Android. However, if you're on the iOS platform, this article provides specific steps to address mileage tracking errors: Fix Mileage Tracking Issues in QuickBooks Self-Employed for iOS

We have an ongoing investigation about mileage stopped working, Dharma. I'll provide updates about the investigation and route you to our support team so you can be added to the list of affected users.

Our engineers have found the root cause and have released the fix to the Google Play store for final review and update. As soon as the fix is approved and released, you'll see an app update available in the Google Play store. Please keep an eye out and update your app once available.

For now, it's best to contact our QuickBooks Self-Employed Support team so they can include you in the list. Rest assured, you'll receive an email update once it's rectified.

Here's how to connect with us:

  1. Sign in to your QBSE account.
  2. Go to the Help (?) menu.
  3. Select the Search tab, then click Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern in the field.
    Tap Continue.
  5. Click the Chat or Callback option.

While our engineers are working for a fix, you can manually add the trip. To do so follow the steps below:

  1. Select Miles.
  2. Edit the Date.
  3. (Optional) Add a start and end address.
  4. Enter the distance in the Add miles field.
