scam Warning ask to rebuild data file and if this does'nt fix the problem call [phone number removed].

Did you seriously suggest purchasing a care plan with the amount of money I am charged every year to use this software? Apparently your not reading this thread properly, all of us are getting the same warning message and it’s popping up without even being in the data file

@Hobbs37357 @vgrillo

Did you find the files I mentioned earlier? If you are still confused, contact me in private for details.

DO NOT call the number on the warning, I have been dealing with this for 2 weeks. Tonight I completely wiped out quickbooks on my computer, I went through every file and deleted anything quickbooks related and reinstalled, the message didn’t pop up so we will see how it goes over the next few days, I will keep you posted as I know how frustrating this is and intuit hasn’t been able to figure it out for me either

I had the same popup error message. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop version and it still came back. Was just about to purchase the cloud version of Quickbooks, but I think I fixed the problem. When the popup appears, open the task manager on windows (control alt delete - task manager). Look for the app called QBE, right click to open file location (on my computer it was in libraries/public) and delete the file. You'll have to end the task in task manager before you can delete the file - it'll appear in two places, also in background tasks - end both. Quickbooks will close. You should then be able to delete the file. It's a small file, but as we all know, it's insidious.

There is a malware file causing this. I found the file and deleted it and the problem went away. When the "error" popup appears open task manager and look for an app called QBE. Open file location and delete the file.

This was the most helpful reply here.  I did exactly this and I don't have the pop-up anymore.  A malware scan will even show that the QBE/QBD file is malicious

Here is the solution.

You need to delete the trojan.

You have to open task manager. Locate the program (Trojan) QBDMakers right click and open file location. It might send you to a folder called System32/INT, be aware that this is not the real System32 folder. There you will see the location of QBDMakers and also another application called QBDLD with the QuickBooks logo.

This is the important part. Have the task manager and file location open side by side. 1st stop the program QBDMakers in the task manager and then immediately go to the file location and delete that file QBDMakers. That should remove the trojan and you should not see the error message again. You should probably delete that whole system32 fake folder that only has INT folder in it.

You are welcome!
