2020 QB Desktop pro installation on desktop then migrate onto a linux server

Hi I'm thinking about purchasing QB Desktop Pro and I wanted to make sure I was able to do the following before purchasing.   Here's my situation:  I'm in the process of starting a single location dental practice and want to start using QB Desktop pro before building my office.  Once the office is built I want to move the QB data onto my Linux server and then be able to use QB from  a separate Windows 10 workstation. Is this possible to set up QB this way? How do I migrate my data on to the Linux server?

Unfortunately only Enterprise edition supports Linux. You may try to install Pro on Wine to run on Linux. But if you don't have any dedicated IT support, you should avoid that option.

Linux server is only available in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, gotlight.

QuickBooks 2020 has system requirements to be followed. It is important to get the best experience as you go along with your book. For more details, please check this link: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2020. Under the Data Server, you can see the availability of the Linux for QuickBooks Desktop.

Since migrating your data from desktop to the Linux server is unavailable in QuickBooks Pro, would you like to install QuickBooks Enterprise? If so, you can go to this link and download it there. Select your country, product and the version. Then, click the Search button. Lastly, click Download.

Then, sign in as an admin user on your server computer and workstations to access a multi-user network. This way, you can use separate Windows 10 workstations.

About migrating your data from desktop and Linux server, you may want to reach out to an IT person who is expertise about converting data to the Linux server.
