Building a Server to Run Quickbooks Enterprise Server

Looking to upgrade to a new server.  Does anyone have experience to share?  The old server is just slow and quickbooks often stops responding under heavy tasks.  Some of the data bases are getting pretty large and we don't want to lose historical details from our data.  Our IT company is quoting us $20K for used equipment.

Building a Server to Run Quickbooks Enterprise Server

I was asking about the hardware not the software.  Does anyone have a type of server configuration or hardware recomendations they would suggest?

Can anyone point me in the direction of someone that can provide some helpful input on my question or perhaps another message board for quickbooks Enterprise?
