Cash Flow Planner

Hello. I`m interested in the option Cash Flow Planner, but unfortunately I don't see it in the menu Dashboards. In my case, it can only be found through search. How can I fix that?

Cash Flow Planner

It's good to know you're interested in using the Cash Flow Planner option to manage your money ins and outs, Yana. I've got the expertise to help you get this on the dashboard.

The cash flow planner tool is available only in QuickBooks Online (QBO), which tracks your business revenues and expenditures. You could use the feature if you're not using multicurrency in your QBO account. However, once enabled, you can't see the tab in the Dashboard menu because it conflicts with the default single currency calculation of the system.

Since you mentioned the planner can only be found through search, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. In some instances, accumulated data used by QuickBooks to run faster becomes outdated, causing unexpected behavior when navigating the software. To start, utilize an incognito or private window to prevent utilizing corrupted cache files.

You may proceed to these keyboard shortcuts depending on your browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Check the panel for the accessory, then switch to your regular web directory, and clear its cache to refresh the website's preferences. Alternatively, consider using other supported browsers for the best and most secure experience.

Whereas for QuickBooks Desktop users, the organizer won't be accessible, and you will see the Cash Flow Hub instead. The hub also works similarly to QBO but without the ability to create or delete items and customize features. To access it, go to the Company menu and select Cash Flow Hub or hover to the My Shortcuts.

If you still can't locate it, the Verify and Rebuild tools are readily operative to aid in figuring out the cause and resolve it for you.

Furthermore, QuickBooks offers different reports providing an overview of your business cash flows and financial status.

Know that you're welcome to comment below if you have other concerns or follow-up inquiries about the cash flow planner in QuickBooks. I'll jump right in and assist you. Take care always.

Cash Flow Planner

Thank you very much for the answer. I used all your advice, cleared the cache, but, unfortunately, the planner never appeared in the dashboards. What else do you think could be the reason?

Cash Flow Planner

I appreciate your response and for getting back to us, Yana. I'll add another possible reason why the Cash Flow Planner is not showing in the Dashboard.

Aside from enabling the Multicurrency option, the other probable cause of this could be due to the QuickBooks version you're using. The feature is unavailable in QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) and will not appear on the Dashboards menu.

However, if you didn't turn on the multicurrency and you're not using QBOA, it could be due to something else. With that, I recommend contacting our Customer Live Support for further assistance. Rest assured, they have the necessary tools to check your account securely or initiate a screen-sharing session with you to look into your books and investigate the origin of the issue.

I'll write down the steps you need to reach them:

  1. Go to the Help menu, then select the Search tab.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Choose a topic, then enter a brief description of your concern and hit Continue.
  4. Pick either Chat with us or Have us call you and start connecting with them.
