Error 1334

Installing my stand alone QB program on new windows11 computer.  I get almost finished then this message:

Error 1334 The file 'reg_legal.html' cannot be installed.

Any help out there?  I do not want to subscribe on a monthly basis.

Thanks!

Error 1334

I appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns, @James561. Let's ensure you'll be able to fix the error 1334 in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

To begin with, error 1334 is caused by a missing or damaged QBDT installation file or a .NET framework. To resolve this, you'll need to repair or reinstall the Microsoft .NET framework.

Here's how:

  1. Close all open programs.
  2. Open the Windows Start menu.
  3. Enter Control Panel into the search box and open Control Panel.
  4. Go to Programs and Features.
  5. Click Uninstall a Program.
  6. Select Turn Windows features on or off.
  7. Find .NET Framework on the list, then check the settings for both .NET Framework 4.5 (or later) and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.

For more detailed information, you can check this article: Manually fix Microsoft .NET Framework errors.

After installing, QBDT will prompt you to activate. Here's an article to help you: Activate QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.

If you have any concerns about the error 1334, please tag me in the comment section, @James561. I'll assist you in any way possible.

@James561

Your version is too old. Try to reinstall it in Vista or Win 7 compatibility mode. If the same error message persists, consider to upgrade your version to a newer version with a non subscription license.
