Exporting from QBDesktop pro plus 21 to QBOnline

I just purchased QB online and tried yesterday to export all my company information from my accountants Desktop pro plus 2021 software. We updated to the latest version, restarted the computer after, he signed in, we went to company and selected to export files. after it prepares them it asks if im ready to move or to start a new trial but after I selected ready to move it told me it dint find any account, that if I would like to create one. after  that I won't be able to go back. Do I need to sign in somewhere so it can find my online account? do I have to create a trial account to be able to export it? been all day chatting and phones in customer service haven been able to know or contact me with a specialist that would be able to help!!

thanks

I can show you how to export your data into QuickBooks Online, Jesus.

When you start importing your company file, let's ensure that you are logged in as a Master admin so you can select your company file. Also, we can update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest version to have the recent features and fixes.

Just a heads that when you convert your desktop company file to QuickBooks Online (QBO) there are data that converts and what you can expect after the process.

Then, you can follow the steps on how to import your desktop file to QBO.

  1. Sign in as an admin to the company file.
  2. Go to the Company menu, then select Export Company File to QuickBooks Online.
  3. Select Start your export.
  4. Sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Online company.
  5. If you track inventory in QuickBooks Desktop, select Yes to bring them over, then specify the as of date.
  6. Click No if you want to set up new items later in QuickBooks Online.
  7. Select the Choose online company dropdown, and choose the QuickBooks Online company you want to be replaced by your company file.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. Enter Agree in the text field, then select Replace.
  10. Select Yes, go ahead and replace the data, then select Replace.

Also. here's an article that answers the most frequently asked questions about converting from QBDT to QBO: General Questions about converting from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. It includes topics about syncing data and migration security, to name a few.

I’ll be happy to assist you further if you have additional questions about the import process. Have a good one!
