My organization wants to run QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0 behind a firewall which does not allow any access to open internet.
Can I get the list of fixed port numbers and IP addresses which can be added as exception in the Firewall so that only those ports and IP addresses can be whitelisted ?
Which port is used for license verification for the latest version, If I allow access only to that port, would I be able to launch QuickBooks and work with local company files ?
Would QuickBooks transmit any of my company data or computer related metadata to its servers?
Please note - I have already reached out to QuickBooks support team, but they don't have these details.
Hello there.
I'd like to route you to the best support group that can handle this type of concern.
We have a separate forum where our customers can engage with our developer team. This way, you and the engineering team can discuss the Firewall configuration for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0. As well as getting the list of fixed port numbers and IP addresses. Let me share some steps on how you can reach out to them.
Here's how:
I'm attaching this article that can assist you in finding helpful articles, video tutorials, and more in managing your QuickBooks account: Learn QuickBooks.
Keep me posted if you need more help with navigating your QuickBooks account. The Community is always here to help you.
I am NOT using QBO(QuickBooks Online). I am using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
They won't share this kind of info. Trial and error are the only option.
I appreciate you giving us an update, QucBk_desktop_developer.
As mentioned by my colleague, we have a dedicated forum designed to assist you with API-related questions. You can connect there with highly skilled developers specializing in Firewall configuration as well as getting the list of port numbers and IP addresses.
The steps provided by my peer above are correct. You can just escape step 2 and go to this Intuit Developer page, then directly proceed with selecting QuickBooks Desktop. I'm adding a screenshot for your visual reference.
It's a great platform to seek guidance and collaborate with experts in the field.
You can always get back to this thread if you have other questions aside from developer-related questions. The Community is here to help.
I have already posted this question on the Developer community, like days ago.
Firewall configuration for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0 (intuit.com)
There is no response from there as well.
So please stop spamming my question.
I appreciate your getting back to us, @QucBk_desktop_developer.
I have reviewed the thread and understand the urgency of whitelisting Intuit IP addresses for your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Enterprise. I recommend posting your concern again in the Intuit Developer forum, as only they can share the list of IP addresses you can add as an exception to your PC's firewall settings.
When this is resolved, you can refer to this article on how to let other computers access QBDT company files from a host computer.
You're always welcome in the Community should you have other concerns about the QBDT setup. We'll do our best to assist. Take care.
