Buy nowHi All. Well I have a problem i can't seem to resolve. I have a legit copy of QB and have been using it since I bought and paid for it in 2015. Yes I know that QB no longer support this version and they want more money from me to go online which I am not prepared to do. Now, this is the problem
I tried to save AN INVOICE AS A pdf but it wouldn't so i used the QB hub tool to fix it. It didn't so i went to print preview and it didn't work so i went to printer and it did nothing. no printer was shown and no way to add one. QB was working fine yesterday and I have not installed anything since. When I went to the format tab the letter heading was there for the invoice but no preview, and when i went to the layout button the was nothing appearing on the screen. So i re-installed QB still nothing, I went to templates and although all of the templates were listed they were ALL blank, so i tried company files and can't find any I also used a back up i had from the begining of May still that didn't work everything on the invoice and sales sheet are empty.... HELP!!!! what has happened and is it fixable
Thanks
Thanks for reaching out to the Community, john_b1. I appreciate your detailed information.
Since you've already tried troubleshooting with the QuickBooks Tool Hub, I'd recommend using your Verify tool. This finds common issues in a company file and informs you if the Rebuild utility needs to be used afterwards.
Here's how to verify your company data:
If you see a QuickBooks detected no problems with your data message, this means your data's clean and there's no further actions to take. In the event it displays a Your data has lost integrity message, damage was found in your file and you'll want to rebuild the company file data. For error messages, you can search on our support site for steps on fixing them.
After troubleshooting with your Verify/Rebuild utilities, try printing an invoice again and see if you encounter the same problem.
If you're still unable to print invoices after troubleshooting, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. Have a wonderful Monday!
Thanks so much but as usual with me and quickbooks it did not work. I even restored a previous backup from a year ago and it doesn't show up. There are no invoices that i can use - all the quickbook ones have disappeared .....Here's a screenshot of what I get. All other programs on my PC work ok
Thank you for giving that a try and following up with the results, john_b1.
Since the issue is persisting I recommend reaching out to a member of the QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. Agents have specialized tools, like the ability to share your screen, to work alongside you and take a more in depth look to determine what's causing this problem with printing invoices. They'll also be able to escalate the issue further if need be. Here's how to get in touch with the team:
1. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
2. Select Contact Us.
3. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Continue.
4. Sign in to your Intuit account and select Continue and then Continue with my account.
5. We'll email you a single use code. Enter your code and select Continue. (If you have more than one account, select the account you want to use and then Continue.)
6. Select to chat with us or have us call you.
The following article provides these steps if you ever need them again in the future: Contact QuickBooks Desktop Support
Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions. I'll be here to help in any way that I can.
But quickbooks do not want to know. After telephoning them they said desktop is no longer supported and tried to sell me an online version. Which I do not want. Honestly if this is the way they treat customers who have parted with cash to use a program and they are not interested........I'll go somewhere else
@john_b1 Technically, it's just any Desktop earlier than 2022 (Soon to be earlier than 2023) that they won't support; QBO isn't necessarily required until at least May 31st, 2027, depending on what they do with Enterprise.
I wouldn't recommend upgrading to 2022 or later unless you have to, though; 2021 was the last standalone Desktop year, anything past that requires a yearly subscription.
May be in your best interest to reach out to a local IT group.
