How can we change the location for backup in Intuit Data protect?

You’ve come to the right place, @oscar1.

Once you activate the Intuit Data Protect, it backed up your files and folders every day and stored it in a secured cloud server. Thus, you cannot change the location where you can save the backup.

Here's a short video clip on how the Intuit Data Protect  works:

How can we change the location for backup in Intuit Data protect?

Thanks a lot. The problem is that right now the backup is in the same HDD where the QB original file is. I would like to do the backup in the cloud on external HDD

Thanks for getting back to us, @oscar1.

Let’s perform a manual backup, so you can keep a copy of the company file in the cloud of your external HDD. I have a few easy steps to accomplish this task.

  1. On your computer, scroll down to the right corner and double-click the Green padlock icon to select Open Intuit Data Protect.

  2. From there, choose the Back up now option and then pick the files and folders you’re trying to save.
  3. Hit the Continue button to proceed and pick Backup now.
  4. A message will show up once you’ve successfully created a copy of the file.
  5. Click OK to confirm.

For future reference, see the Can't back up with the Intuit Data Protect article. It provides an overview of the troubleshooting steps of how to fix unexpected issues while saving a copy of the company file.
