I want to uninstall and then conduct a clean reinstall of quickbooks for mac 2014. I thought I was successful the first time I tried but saw in my recent lists the 2 companies are still there.
Any suggestions or recommendations would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
QuickBooks Mac install consists of the QuickBooks Mac program which is usually put in the Applications folder (/Applications). You can drag that to the trash to uninstall it.
QuickBooks does create files in other locations when it is launched. The most obvious are the company files. It also creates Preference files (~/Library/Preferences holds those) and application support files (~/Library/Application Support/QuickBooks)
Uninstalling the product will not remove your company files. What exactly are you trying to do?
Help! I just want to unistall everything and start over! I have a bunch of accounts still there that are just 'inactive' that clutter my account....stuff not properly classified - frustrating. I'd rather start from scratch. I put it in trash can but it is still there! How do I get rid of it totally on my mac? Thanks in advance.
Hi 0204monica,
You also need to remove the QuickBooks PLIST files to completely uninstall your QuickBooks for Mac. Please follow the steps in this article on how to do it and reinstall the program again: Reinstall QuickBooks for Mac Using Clean Install.
